Towards a theory on the role of supply chains in enabling occupational health and safety
Existing literature highlights adverse implications of supply chain activities for the health and safety of workers, and provide some evidence of good practices in managing health and safety issues in supply chains. However, the role of supply chains in enabling OHS among suppliers is unclear. This research aims at developing a managerial framework integrating contextual factors, supply chain actions, mechanisms enabling effectiveness and performance outcomes to enhance OHS among suppliers. In order to fulfil this aim, the author will construct a conceptual framework using a systematic literature review approach, and subsequently, conduct an empirical study to test and validate the framework.

Finding accelerators for green technology diffusion of a country
As green technology is something inevitable for the sustainability of living nowadays, all countries will be sooner or later adopt it in almost all of their walks of life. Investigating automotive sector, this study is done to understand why some countries are more successful in adopting green technology than others, what makes transport electrification can thrive so well, which route should be taken to play an active role in a global electric vehicle value chain. It is expected afterwards that the complexity of adoption process could be well modelled. Hence factors that could accelerate the diffusion processes could be defined.

Exploring the adoption of cyber-physical systems in civil aerospace manufacturing value network
As technologies converge within cyber-physical systems, firms must develop the required capabilities to improve performance in the civil aerospace manufacturing value network. The capabilities that firms develop will enable them to address the increased market demands and rapid technological advancements. As manufacturing confronts challenges to satisfy the increased rate of production for components, systems, and services; while complying to design specifications standards and safety-critical industry regulations, the industry must combine all the technical expertise, and coordinate the adoption of technologies. This research explores the competitive nature of the civil aerospace manufacturing industry, and recommends a framework for the successful adoption of cyber-physical systems.

Towards a Circular Economy: Measuring and Increasing Circularity in Business Models
This research project contributes to transforming the current linear economy paradigm to a circular one by developing a tool that measures circularity on the business model level, highlighting factors that increase the financial viability of such models in the process. This comes before the background of increasing resource scarcity, environmental pollution, and associated social problems creating a business environment in which sustainable, circular business models become increasingly attractive to firms. Potential benefits here are reduced costs through better utilisation of factor inputs and avoidance of pollution and waste levies, increased right-to-operate, better brand reputation, and increased supply chain resiliency, as well as the potential to drive novel business models.

Green supply chain management: a decision making framework in Thai manufacturing industry
The increasing of competition leads Thai manufacturing company to adopt green supply chain management strategy in order to maintain their competitiveness. Not all of the companies, however, which use the green supply chain management strategy are successful in operating. Therefore, this research will focus on finding the decision-making framework of the Thai manufacturing company which decide to use green supply chain management as their strategies, the key challenges to be faced when transform their supply chain to the green supply chain management, and also the critical factors required in order to successfully transition into a successful green supply chain management

Role of a Logistics Service Provider in coordinating Supply Chain Finance to deliver value adding SC services
Large LSPs like UPS, DHL and Swiss Post are offering various financial value added services encompassing operational and strategic levels. In Supply Chain Finance, SCF instruments that can be offered by LSPs and enablers and inhibitors for their adoption has become a critical area of research. The key aim of this research is to explore various SCF instruments that can be used to enable an LSP to deliver value adding SC services (co-ordination role) to their clients

How development of interaction capabilities affects SMEs’ participation in high value manufacturing global value chains?
UK SMEs play a significant role to its country in terms of number of enterprises, employment and value added. Increasing their participation in HVM GVCs will bring sustainable growth to the country. To participate in these chains, certain capabilities need to develop by SMEs. However, development of capabilities among SMEs has not been widely explored. Thus, my research aims to examine the relationship between interaction capabilities and SMEs’ participation in global value chains.

Why do some people use products correctly while others do not? The case of medicine adherence
My thesis looks at the causes and inhibitors of adherence, the correct use of products and services. Using a mixed methods approach and a two-case study, a qualitative phase confirmed and extended reasons for adherence and non-adherence to medicines in the developing and developed worlds and has led to the creation of a theoretical framework. A quantitative phase is assessing the validity of the framework. The framework will then be considered as the basis for adherence in all its forms.

Interaction of Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain
Industry 4.0 is mercurially growing with the enhancing technology and digitisation. Therewithal, it is essential to spread the applications of this high digitisation all along the supply chain in order to get the aimed benefit from Industry 4.0. In the light of this main idea, the thesis aims to clearly state the initial phases of Industry 4.0 implementation into supply chains (as well as the correct timing) like Smart Logistics, collection of real-time information (order or feedback) from customers, their instantaneous analytics and share between the participants of supply chain in the scope of varied supply chain functions.

Enhancing UK Manufacturing by Enabling a Value Chain Orientation
Supply Chain Productivity and its link to Manufacturing industry is a hot topic in companies due to the rise of globalisation and dynamic market performance. This research addresses the core issue of supply chain planning and its connectivity to performance in the entire SC operations. The application oriented research project will develop holistic value streams that enhance customer service at the lowest Supply chain cost, improving the over all productivity of the UK manufacturing supply chain.

The impact of supply chain integration on project performance in the construction industry
My research aims to reveal how different supply chain integration profiles drive different types of construction projects to high performance. In supply chains, there is no one certain level and type of supply chain integration which works well in all instances. Both external and internal determinant factors should be taken into consideration. For the construction industry in particular, the source of these determinant factors are the projects. Implementing integration without taking the unique characteristics of projects may not elicit high performance. This research therefore investigates the relationship between supply chain integration and project performance by taking project characteristics into account.

Clarifying the role of re-shoring in global manufacturing strategy
Reshoring refers to moving what were previously offshored manufacturing activities back to their home country. This trend has been popular for several years especially in US, EU and UK. However, in terms of the understanding of reshoring, there remain the problems of a lack of clarity, insufficient primary data-gathering and low diversity in research directions. Therefore, this research argues it is necessary to clarify the reshoring definition, its current status, its drivers and potential consequences, to explore the roles of reshoring played between competitive priorities, and company performance, and to devise a holistic decision framework taking into consideration all relevant parameters.
