Investigating inequality

How has inequality changed in the UK, and why is it changing?

Arun Advani has been studying HMRC data to find answers to these questions. He explains some surprising findings: when you order people by income and look at the top 1% of people, 1 in 4 of these are migrants. And these migrants aren't bringing income with them, they are working and earning in the UK. The share of income going to the top 1% has been rising. But if you remove the income going to migrants within this group, it drops by 90%.
