2010 marks the beginning of what some have called a “ Golden Decade” for British Sport. In addition to the 2012 Olympics, Britain will host the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, the 2013 Commonwealth Games and perhaps even the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Sport and the business of sport will take an ever more prominent place in national affairs and this conference will consider all the key legal issues which affect sport and which will form such an important part of the planning and implementation of the Golden Decade.
The conference will consider and discuss the key issues in sport and in particular sports law from the last 12 months.
Each major sport will be reviewed by a panel of experts and decision makers from that sport following a presentation on the key developments from the preceding 12 months. In particular the panel of experts will draw upon the lessons learnt by certain sports to address the issues faced by others.
