Building Fairer and Cleaner Futures
Pathways to Just Low-Carbon and Climate-Resilient Transition
Thursday, 06 NovemberEveryone welcome!
Join us for an in-depth conversation on just transition, an important framework for guiding the global shift to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. As the world confronts the challenges of climate change, societies and economies will have to mitigate and adapt to a greener, cleaner and more resilient future while ensuring no-one is left behind. As we shift away from fossil-fuel economies and embrace new technologies and models of production and consumption, we must also ensure that this transition is orderly, equitable and inclusive.
A just transition requires us ensure that we protect jobs, support vulnerable communities and mitigate social dislocations and economic disruptions.
Join our expert panel to discuss how we can facilitate a just transition locally, nationally and internationally. What strategies can governments and institutions deploy to ensure equitable growth, green job creation, and social inclusion? What are the challenges faced by local, national and international policymakers to safeguard workers and communities from the risks of disorderly transitions to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future? What role does and should the UK government play in leading fairer and equitable pathways for a just transition globally?
Take part in the conversation shaping policies for a fairer, greener future.
