Professor Shirin Rai's article 'The Shakti Transition: Women politicians' own attitudes to quota have changed greatly' has been published in the Opinion column of outlookindia.com.

On Wednesday 5 May 2010 a Gendered Ceremony and Ritual in Parliament programme research exhibition will be held at the University of Sheffield.

As part of the School of Theatre, Performance and Cultural Policy Studies' Research Seminar Series, Professor Shirin Rai will deliver a paper entitled 'Analysing Ceremony and Ritual in Parliament'.  Dr Yvette Hutchison will also deliver a paper, entitled 'Performing Memory: Theatricalising Identity in Contemporary South Africa.'
