Placement
Supporting you into University
We hope that you have had a productive and enjoyable year studying the Warwick International Foundation Programme and that you are successful in gaining a place at the university of your choice for the next academic year. Results will be sent to all students' firm and insurance choices week commencing 1 July so you should hear their decisions in subsequent weeks through UCAS Track.
- If you have met the terms of your Firm and/or Insurance choice university- CONGRATULATIONS!! you will hear directly from them through Track.
- If you have narrowly missed the terms of your Firm/Insurance choices, they may still offer you a place. Keep a close eye on Track and contact the universities directly if you are unsure
- Remember you cannot change between your Firm and Insurance choices after your results have been released as you have entered into a contractual agreement with both universities
- If your results are not as expected and you are not offered a place at either your Firm or Insurance choices, you will need some support finding a different university course or an alternative pathway for the next academic year. It is important not to panic and seek advice from the IFP team.
English Language Requirements
This means the specific English Language Requirements for your Firm/Insurance university, as detailed on either your offer emails, in UCAS Track or the University(s) website. Please note that universities often have different English Language Requirements for their courses, so it is important that you understand the specific requirements for the course(s) you have applied for. If you have not met the requirements for the course you wish you study then you will need to contact the university directly to check their deadlines in order for you to consider possibly re-sitting the exams during the summer. It is your responsibility to send your English Language results to your final confirmed University choice. If you are struggling to achieve the necessary IELTS scores then we would recommend considering alternatives accepted by the universities you wish to attend (such as Pearson, TOEFL or Cambridge English exams).
Pre-sessionals, many universities offer these in the summer prior to the start of an undergraduate degree for those students who have not quite met the English language requirements. You need to register for these in advance, please check deadlines carefully and you must hold a valid UKVI IELTS in order to be eligible to register.
UCAS Clearing
If you did not meet the conditions of your Firm or Insurance choices and were not offered a university place then you will be eligible for Clearing. Please do not panic about this, over 50,000 students found places in Clearing in 2018!
Please read UCAS Clearing for more information. You will also be able to access support via email, phone or skype from the IFP team until 30 August 2019. New for 2019: Self- Release into Clearing. Instead of having to wait for Universities to release you into Clearing you can do this yourself in Track, saving time
If you have met and exceeded the conditions for your firm choice you may be thinking about looking for an alternative course/university. Please see UCAS Adjustment for more information
