My Bio

I joined the University of Warwick as a Teaching Fellow in January 2022.

I moved to the UK in 2002 from India and I am a UK citizen. Since then, I have worked in several reputed Educational Institutions in the UK. For my professional development I have completed the Certificate in Further Education Teaching, Cfet, Level 4 teaching course and STEP, Specialist Teacher Education Programme, level 5 and I am undertaking PGA TEL course for my CPD this academic year.

I have worked in reputed schools in Hertfordshire and Wiltshire. After completing my PGCert in 2010 from the University of West of England, I worked as a full-time lecturer in a Further Education, FE college and taught Functional Maths and AS and A level Economics to both British and International students. I have also taught a group of learners with a wide range of learning needs. I conducted an Action Research on how best to teach Maths to learners with Autism. Since 2017, I am the AQA examiner for A-level Economics.

My areas of research interests are Technology enhanced teaching, learning and assessment, to create an environment of inclusive learning. I am keen to undertake research oriented academic projects. Recently, I have developed an interest in UNESCO’s principles of Education in Sustainable Development, ESD. I would like to carry out research projects on this topic in the future.

Prior to coming to the UK, I obtained M.Sc. in Economics, specialising in Econometrics from the University of Kolkata, India. After completing my Masters degree, I worked in the Finance Department in a Multinational company in Kolkata, India. I also obtained the Advanced System Management Diploma in Computing from NIIT, National Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata, India, for my professional development.

I have keen interest in international Art and Culture. In my spare time I read books, listen to both Indian and Western classical music and watch films. I am passionate about painting portraits in different mediums. I keep my self-updated with the current trends in Economics and read articles on the developments of Education, both at the national and international levels.
