Understanding spoken academic English - Thursday 18 October
Do you find native speakers of English difficult to understand? Do you have difficulty catching all the words in a lecture?
We will examine how spoken English differs from written English in terms of content and style. We will study the key features of spoken academic English. We will also examine some of the features of fast natural speech and how an awareness of such features may make native English speakers easier to understand.
There will be opportunities throughout the session to work on your pronunciation.
This workshop is for Postgraduate Students only and will run Thursday 18 October, 11.30 – 13.00, in Room 1.009
