Exploiting journal articles: Improving your reading and writing skills - Wednesday 31 October
Do you often feel overwhelmed with the amount of reading you have to do? Do you want to learn how to manage your reading, and your ability to read with more purpose? In your writing, do you struggle with paraphrasing and choice of vocabulary?
In this session, we will work with an academic journal article from your discipline and practise a number of strategies to help you read more efficiently. You will also learn how to exploit a journal article to help you expand your vocabulary, improve your vocabulary collocation and paraphrase more effectively. You will also be provided with some reference material on effective learning strategies for self-study.
This workshop is for Postgraduate Students only and will run Wednesday 31 October, 13.30 – 15.00, in Room 2.004
