EUTOPIA DAY 2025: Inclusive Futures

Anyone interested in considering how Warwick connects with our Global EUTOPIA Network. Members of EUTOPIA are particularly welcome as part of our community of practice, but we equally welcome Warwick’s wider community of academics, professional service staff and students to join us.

What Is It?

On 10 November, across EUTOPIA’s European campuses, students, staff, researchers and local communities will hold events for EUTOPIA Day themed on Inclusive Futures. EUTOPIA offers a multi-country network of opportunity across ten European and six Global Partner campuses, but how do we extend Warwick’s values and practices when working with diverse international partners?

Warwick’s EUTOPIA Day considers how EUTOPIA might support multi-campus inclusion through interdisciplinarity, innovation and cooperation. Following short presentations (Warwick/EUTOPIA Teams, EUTOPIA Connected Communities), participants are invited to engage in a short reflective discussion on how our individual roles and collective practices might contribute to stronger, more inclusive, and more responsible practices with our EUTOPIAn network. There are no easy answers, but our discussion will form part of our ongoing series of community events where we encourage members of the EUTOPIA community share good practice.

Prompts for Discussion

As part of this lunchtime session, we will have short presentations to introduce Warwick’s and EUTOPIA’s work on Inclusion and Responsible Internationalisation, including academic staff and students involved in its practice and delivery. There will be opportunity for full-group discussion, with prompts to consider the more challenging areas of our roles:

• How do we align Warwick’s institutional practice around inclusion with EUTOPIA’s institutional practice around inclusion?
• Where do we most need to enhance inclusion? And are there cases where responsible internationalisation should prompt us to consider exclusion?
• What does good practice look like for multi-campus inclusion and where are our greatest challenges?
