Warwick leads national careers roadshow to support Chinese students into employment
On 1st and 2nd March 2019, the University of Warwick led a joint university careers roadshow tailored to employment opportunities in China and Hong Kong. Over 4,000 students from 10 UK universities attended the events, which ran over two days across two locations, at the University of Manchester and the University of Warwick.
International Partnership Fund 2019-20 is now open
We are delighted to invite applications for the latest round of the University's International Partnership Fund. The Fund is intended to encourage partnerships that will lead to the development of important global research collaborations with leading universities and research institutes.
The deadline for applications to be received is Friday 26 April 2019.
Warwick's partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University strengthens
Warwick have welcomed 10 first and second year undergraduates from the University of Michigan (UM) - Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Joint Institute. The students spent three weeks studying for a Masters module in Humanitarian Engineering and experiencing a cultural programme designed to provide an insight into our region’s heritage.
Raising the standard of English language college teaching in rural China
Last Summer sixty eight college teachers from Yunnan and Guizhou provinces in rural China were offered a bespoke training programme designed and delivered by members of staff from Applied Linguistics, University of Warwick and the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).
International Humanitarian Engineering project launches at Warwick
On 11 and 12 December Warwick hosted a two day workshop to bring together partners from Greece, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Vietnam to launch a project designed to initiate sustained reform of the graduate engineering programmes at the Asian higher education partner institutions.
Warwick celebrates the achievements of International Scholars
The International Sponsored Student Reception took place last month for 167 outstanding scholars from 49 countries. The celebration, hosted by the Student Recruitment, Outreach and Admissions Service (SROAS) and Warwick’s Graduate School, formally welcomed the scholars to the University of Warwick.
Warwick’s partnership with one of Brazil’s leading universities goes from strength to strength
Warwick’s relationship with the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, stems from a strong foundation of academic collaborations. Building on a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two institutions in 2016, the partnership has gone from strength to strength. With over 40,000 students, UFMG is the largest federal university in Brazil, very highly ranked within the country and consistently top 20 in the Latin American QS rankings.
We have recently welcomed two early career researchers through our Rutherford Strategic International Fellows scheme, seed funded a collaboration between Professor Nicolini in WBS and the Engineering Department at UFMG, and will also be offering two Warwick undergraduates the opportunity to participate in UFMG’s 2019 Summer School.

The University of Warwick has signed an agreement with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) to establish a new framework that enables all interested departments to offer a joint PhD programme.
International fellows tell us why their experience at Warwick is so important
On 25 October three Rutherford Strategic International Fellows presented their research at a showcase event hosted by the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS). The showcase was a celebration of the IAS’s funding schemes and gave the opportunity for current fellows to meet other members of the academic and administrative community.
Warwick researchers win funding to develop international research collaborations
Warwick is committed to supporting our academic colleagues to build and develop international collaborations that will strengthen their research. We have a long standing agreement with FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) which is the state funding agency for São Paulo, Brazil, to jointly fund research projects between researchers from the University of Warwick and from the State of São Paulo. Through this agreement, Warwick researchers are able to apply to the SPRINT (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration) funding call.
