EUTOPIA Week at the University of Ljubljana
University of the Future, Universe of Opportunities - celebrating EUTOPIA
From 21 – 25 November 2022, a delegation from Warwick, led by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart Croft, will attend EUTOPIA week at the University of Ljubljana. This event marks the completion of the EUTOPIA 2050 project and showcase some of the many successful innovative education and research collaborations that have already come to fruition. This meeting will also launch the next phase of EUTOPIA and gives this alliance of ten research-intensive European the universities the impetus to detail how to innovate and implement new ideas.
During the Opening Ceremony, the ten Presidents will sign an “Inclusion Manifesto” that defines five practices that are central to EUTOPIA values. Jointly with EUTOPIA’s Global Partners, the Presidents will also sign an ‘International Partnerships Charter’ which sets out the principles that govern our engagements with partners beyond Europe, and provide a foundation for our future collaboration.
Professor Seán Hand, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Europe) said, “After three years of intensive work, it is wonderful to take stock of the incredible number of activities that are ongoing amongst EUTOPIA partners, and it is exciting to be starting the next phase. As a founding member, Warwick remains at the heart of this highly effective alliance and will continue to engage fully for the benefit of our researchers, educators, staff and students.”
The EUTOPIA Week programme offers hybrid presentations, panels and workshops that engage with researchers, policymakers, students and local communities, as well as in person forums, exhibitions and public events. All Warwick’s researchers, academics, staff and students can register to join the online programme through the EUTOPIA website. The EUTOPIA week programme of events includes:

EUTOPIA, an alliance of ten universities co-founded by the University of Warwick in 2019, is funded by the European Commission to test the model for a ‘European University’ – a connected and inclusive community of students and staff delivering open, innovative higher education and conducting world-leading research.
