University of Warwick Renews Partnership with the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs
The University of Warwick is delighted to announce the renewal of its partnership with the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs (EBCEA), continuing to offer tuition fee discounts to Egyptian government sponsored students across all three Faculties.
On 20 January 2026, Professor Dan Branch, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor (Africa), and Kate Whiston, International Partnerships Manager, visited the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs in London. They met with Professor Rasha Hussein, Egyptian Cultural Attaché to the UK, and Yasser Selim, Academic Adviser.
Discussions focused on the evolving Egyptian higher education landscape and the opportunities for collaboration between UK and Egyptian institutions, particularly as Egypt continues to build capacity through strategic partnerships with international universities. The meeting also explored how UK universities can support Egypt’s national priorities through high quality education, research collaboration and transnational education (TNE).
During the visit, Warwick formally renewed its agreement with the EBCEA, reaffirming the University’s commitment to supportingtalented Egyptian students in receipt of government scholarships to study at Warwick.
Professor Dan Branch commented:
As the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviews the government scholarship programme to ensure alignment with Egypt’s national priorities, Warwick will continue to explore addition always to engage with Egyptian students and universities.
Egypt is rapidly rising in the global rankings for transnational education provision and is now the fourth largest country worldwide for the number of students enrolled on overseas degrees delivered in their home country. There is significant opportunity for collaboration, and the valuable insights shared by Professor Hussein will help inform Warwick’s ongoing TNE discussions.
