Warwick celebrates 130 partnership scholars who join our community this year

On Monday 11th November many of our partnership scholars attended an evening reception to celebrate their success in securing highly prestigious and competitive scholarships to study at Warwick. Over 130 partnership scholars are studying at Warwick this year from 44 countries.

This special event was part of One World Warwick, a programme of activities taking place across campus to celebrate Warwick’s international community, connections, opportunities, and impact.

Warwick partners with external organisations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, foreign embassies and governments, employers, foundations and funding bodies to support the best and brightest international students from around the world. These organisations choose to partner with us because Warwick delivers a high quality and supportive, research-led teaching and learning environment for students and offers a dedicated service to the funding body. Our scholars contribute a diverse range of skills, experiences and cultures to our Warwick community.

Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) welcomed all our scholars to Warwick in an opening speech alongside our distinguished guest Mrs Rajvinder Kaur Gill, High Sheriff of Warwickshire. Professor Scott said;

It is a great honour to welcome every one of you to the University of Warwick and we are thrilled to have you as part of our community. You are all exceptional scholars who bring diverse experiences, perspectives and talents to our university.

As scholars you are at the heart of our institution and we are here to support your curiosity and growth. At Warwick you will find opportunities to push the boundaries of knowledge, to engage in meaningful research, and to connect with mentors who are leaders in their fields. During your time here I encourage you all to seek out connections, build friendships, and know that your department, staff, and fellow students are here to help you thrive.

We are delighted to celebrate your achievements tonight and we look forward to seeing the incredible contributions you will make to our community and beyond. Remember that you are part of something bigger — a Warwick community that values learning, innovation, and making a positive impact on the world.
