International Experience in Political Campaign Financing: CHESNO Movement & the University of Warwick Workshop

Date: 13-14 May 2024

Location: Warwick in Venice CentreLink opens in a new window Palazzo Giustinian Lolin, along the Grand Canal in Venice.

In 2024, most of the world's population will participate in elections. They will occur in several partner countries of Ukraine, such as the USA and Great Britain.

An integral part of the electoral process is advertising and campaign efforts, but a surge in populism, disinformation, and attempts at foreign influence threatens their transparency.

The CHESNO Movement, in partnership with the University of Warwick (UK), is organizing a workshop for representatives of civic and international organizations. The event will bring together experts and scholars from Ukraine, Great Britain, and Italy.

Participants will be able to share their experiences and deepen their expertise in topics such as monitoring social media to detect political advertising and the spread of disinformation, international approaches to regulating this sphere, and methods to counter foreign interference.

The workshop will take place on May 13-14 at the Venice Campus of the University of Warwick. The CHESNO Movement, Texty.org, the University of Warwick, Tactical Tech, and Transparency International BiH representatives are among the event's speakers.
