Dr Jonathan Pearson, School of Engineering has been awarded funding under the NERC - EPSRC - DST India - UK Water Quality call. Dr Pearson has been awarded the funding jointly with Professor Kapil Gupta, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The title of the project is "Pathways and evolution of pollutants: Interactions between physical controlling effects, microbial community composition and pollutant biodegradation". Professor Gupta visited Warwick several years ago under the IAS international visitors programme, with financial support from the Sustainable Cities GRP. The call was subject to a meeting of the GRPs water group in December 2016 following Professor Ian Guymer's attendance at a workshop in India that was focused on the call. The work will also involve colleagues from the School of Life Sciences at Warwick, including Professor Gary Bending and Dr. Hendrik Schaefer.
