Celebrating the achievements of sponsored International Scholars

On 5th August 2021 the achievements of our current International Scholars were celebrated and recognised at a small event on campus.

The event celebrated the significant achievement of our scholars in securing highly prestigious and competitive scholarships, awarded by international funding bodies in partnership with the University of Warwick.

Professor Mike Shipman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), welcomed our International Scholars and said:

“You have studied and succeeded in a time of a global pandemic demonstrating resilience, determination and commitment that will serve you well whatever you do next. You have done something remarkable and you deserve special recognition.”

Junaid Ashraf one of Warwick’s Commonwealth Scholars from Pakistan said:

“Despite Covid, it has been a wonderful year. The people and the professors I have met have been truly amazing. The intellect and diverse group of people that Warwick brings together is great.”

Walla Mouma, a Chevening Scholar from Syria said:

“My huge thanks goes to Chevening and all the staff at Warwick for this massive life-changing opportunity. I will forever be grateful. This year brought so many achievements to my life, but there were difficulties too. In those times all my lecturers were of great support. In particular I would like to thank my personal tutor who supported me and also my supervisor who contributed to my success”.
