Funds now open to support International collaboration

The International Strategy and Relations Team is welcoming applications to four funds that initiate new projects or strengthen existing collaborations with our international partners.

International is a cornerstone of our University strategy. Our overarching aim is to make a positive contribution to the world and its complex challenges, growing our reputation as one of the world’s exceptional universities through global recognition of our research and education excellence.

We believe in the value of building mutually beneficial partnerships and are proud to work with our international partners to create new knowledge, solve problems through research and provide truly global education opportunities.

Professor Mike Shipman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) said:

“Today so many people around the world find themselves living in a time marked by increased division and isolation, both personally and politically. In higher education we have the opportunity to form partnerships which can build bridges across continents and through our shared values and vision, create knowledge and innovations that can help citizens of all nations.

Warwick is international to our core and we hope the new funds announced today will encourage members of our community to undertake a range of exciting new international activities in support of research and education.”

We invite applications to the following funds;

The University’s International Partnership Fund (IPF) aims to strengthen or initiate exchange between Warwick researchers/educators and their counterparts from leading international universities or institutes by enabling them to jointly undertake preliminary research, organize meetings, conferences, or workshops. Call guidelines available here.

The SJTU-Warwick Joint Seed Fund has been established with the specific intention to foster new initiatives with high potential for global impact. The joint research project with our partner in Shanghai (China) should combine complementary aspects of each institution towards novel research outcomes that lead to long term collaboration beyond the scope of the seed fund project. Call guidelines available here.

The Monash Warwick Alliance Connections Fund is designed to enable our core communities of researchers, educators, students and professional staff to sustain the existing projects and initiate new Alliance collaborations with our partner in Melbourne (Australia) at the time of continuing uncertainty and restricted mobility. The Alliance invites you to shape novel approaches to international collaboration and come to the forefront of re-imagining the future of global education and research. Call guidelines available here.

The Monash Warwick Alliance Co-Fund empowers our researchers to work collaboratively to develop strong and competitive funding applications to challenge-led calls and/or responsive mode opportunities from domestic and international funders. If the external funder/grant only covers the research costs incurred by one of the partners (Monash or Warwick), the other partner may seek support from the Alliance Co-Fund towards their directly incurred research costs. Call guidelines available here.
