Warwick Recruitment Process Changes – Get Ready!

Recruitment

Planning to recruit over the next year? We’re making changes to our recruitment processes that will make our recruitment, onboarding, and employment change processes more inclusive, user-friendly, and empowering for end-users across the University.

More than just a technology upgrade, these important updates will be especially relevant for departments recruiting in the coming months.

What’s changing and why it matters

The new approach will deliver:

A better candidate experience— creating a more consistent, positive process for both internal and external applicants, strengthening our reputation and helping us attract top talent.

A self-service model— simplifying and streamlining the way we support staff, making processes quicker and more accessible.

Greater autonomy for recruiting staff— with new functionality to cut paperwork and simplify workflows.

Higher-value support from the People Team— focusing on expert guidance while ensuring appropriate checks and safeguards remain in place centrally.

Key points to note

Technology as an enabler— this project brings immediate benefits and also acts as a catalyst for future improvements to People Team services, policies, and processes.

Who is impacted?— everyone involved in recruitment and onboarding. Managers will gain more ability to self-manage actions throughout the employee lifecycle.

Will there be disruption?— Yes, as we adapt to new ways of working, but we’ll minimise this and work closely with recruiting teams to ensure a smooth transition.

Next steps

Briefing sessions — both online and in-person — will be offered later this year. These will be particularly valuable for anyone involved in recruitment or departments looking to hire in the coming months.

Self-service resources — we’ll release easy-access guidance materials later in the year to support you whenever you need them.
