AI can predict the chances of surviving oral cancer

· State-of-the-art AI algorithms applied to digitised images of oral cancer tissue specimens can be used to predict chances of survival by measuring the abundance of Tumour infiltrating immune cells, a study led by University of Warwick shows.

Flickr photos can be used to calculate tourist flows finds study

A team of scientists at the Data Science Lab at Warwick Business School and The Alan Turing Institute analysed data from 69 million publicly shared photos uploaded to the platform Flickr to estimate global tourism statistics for the G7 countries Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US.

Trial of new test and treatment could benefit half of women with recurrent miscarriage

A major new clinical trial at the University of Warwick in partnership with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust will investigate whether a course of antibiotics prior to conceiving could reduce the likelihood of miscarriage in up to 50% of cases.

The University of Warwick has risen two places to 77th overall in the THE (Times Higher Education) 2019 World University Rankings published on the evening of Wednesday 11th September 2019. This rise is in addition to Warwick’s leap of a dozen places in the 2018 table.
