New Lord Mayor gives cancer research in Coventry a boost

Cancer research in the region is to receive an extra boost thanks to the new Lord Mayor of Coventry.

Councillor Lindsley Harvard has chosen the University of Warwick’s Cancer Research Centre as one of his two official charities.

Guardian newspaper ranks University of Warwick in UK top 10 with 14 subjects also ranked in top 10

The UK's Guardian Newspaper has today, Monday 23rd May 2016, once again ranked the University of Warwick in the UK’s top 10 universities, ranking it at 9th overall in the UK. Warwick also had fourteen subjects ranked by the Guardian in the top ten in the UK.

Warwick to broadcast Royal Opera House performances live on Big Screen

World-class opera performances will be broadcast live and free of charge for the University community and members of the public at the University of Warwick this summer. They will be beamed from the Royal Opera House in London directly to the Big Screen at The Piazza on the main campus on Thursday 9 June (Nabucco) and Thursday 14 July (Il Trovatore).

Psychoactive supper shines a light on blanket substance ban

Last night researchers at the University of Warwick hosted a ‘Psychoactive Supper’ to stimulate discussion about the concept of psycho-activity, central to The Psychoactive Substances Act (2016), a new piece of UK legislation that seeks to ban ‘legal highs’ by instituting a blanket ban on all psychoactive substances.

Mark Taylor to leave WBS to be Dean at top US school

WBS Dean Professor Mark Taylor is to become Dean of John M Olin Business School at Washington University in St Louis in the US. He will also hold an endowed Chair in International Finance at Washington University when he takes up the post on December 1.
