Warwick stands with Ukraine: Vice Chancellor's statement

The University of Warwick has announced that it will review all its links to Russian State institutions — with a view to terminating contracts where possible — in a bold statement of support for Ukraine from the Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Stuart Croft.


Cal Flyn wins the Sunday Times Charlotte Aitken Trust Young Writer of the Year Award, in partnership with University of Warwick

Scottish author and journalist Cal Flyn has been named winner of the 2021 Sunday Times Charlotte Aitken Trust Young Writer of the Year Award for her eerie yet ultimately optimistic account of ecological diversity, Islands of Abandonment. The University of Warwick is a partner in the award and offers a bespoke 10-week residency for the winner.

Using digital flash glucose monitoring for people with diabetes & COVID-19 frees up NHS resources

People with diabetes are at a higher risk of poor outcomes and severe illness if they develop COVID-19, they need careful glucose monitoring to ensure appropriate glycaemic control during a period of any acute illness, including due to COVID-19. In order to support the management of these patients at UHCW, digital flash glucose monitoring devices were used as part of a a nationally leading research project. Researchers from WMG at the University of Warwick, and UHCW evaluated the benefits of this trailblazing research.

Innovative Solutions to the exploitation of health data in the global South

An international research team led by Prof Sharifah Sekalala of Warwick Law School has been awarded €1.4 million to examine how to better regulate the collection and migration of health data of people in the global South in order to protect privacy and prevent exploitation of their personal information.

UK government appoints Warwick to provide new international teaching qualification

Educators around the world will be able to train remotely for a new UK government-backed international teaching qualification with the University of Warwick – one of only six pilot providers selected by the Department of Education (DfE).


Clean Transport Accelerator launched by NatWest and University of Warwick to help SMEs fast-track their innovations

With transport being the largest carbon emitting sector in the UK, a partnership between NatWest and WMG at the University of Warwick has led to the launch of the Clean Transport Accelerator.
