Andrew Shooter – Synthesis Group Leader - LUBRIZOL

Andrew is currently Synthesis Group leader for the Hyperdispersant Technology Platform which is
part of Lubrizol Performance Coatings.

He started working with polymers in 1992 (for David Haddleton at ICI) during a placement year from the University of Huddersfield. Upon graduation he embarked completed a PhD in Living Polymerisation at Warwick in the Haddleton Group.

In 1997 he joined Zeneca working in the Corporate Polymer Group. Zeneca Specialties business was sold to Investment bankers becoming Avecia,

Avecia ultimately divested its business and in 2004 Lubrizol acquired the Additive business, where Andrew was working.

He has spent 20 years + working in same lab in Blackley and has at least 11 granted US/European patents related to dispersants.

Lubrizol currently fund several PhD students at Warwick
