41 new marine conservation zones created - Expert Comment
Marine conservation expert Dr Jessica Savage from Global Sustainable Development comments on the announcement of 41 new 'blue belt' zones:-
"This is a bold and positive step for marine conservation in the UK. It places us as a leader in the movement toward the United Nations protected area targets. The expansion of this network will provide further support for a number of key UK species and habitats, while the lessons learned through this process will foster the development of similar programmes in other countries."
