University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra & Chorus: Aida

The University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra and Chorus present a concert performance of Verdi's stunning opera Aida on Sunday 14 March 2010, at 4pm in Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre.

Join us as we go on our musical journey, meeting priests, warriors, slaves and Pharaohs along the way. Witness the war between the Egyptians and the Ethiopians, and experience the heartbreak of a battle between love and loyalty.

Paul McGrath, Director of Music at the University of Warwick will conduct the performance.

Soloists include:

  • Aida - Tinuke Olafimihan
  • Amneris - Gaynor Keeble
  • Radames - Andrew Rees
  • Amonasro - Craig Smith
  • Ramfis - Piotr Lempa
  • King of Egypt - Jonathan May
  • High Priestess - Sara Whichelow
  • Messenger - Oliver Marshall

With a plethora of Verdi’s familiar melodies, rousing choruses aplenty and an exceptional line-up of soloists, this promises to be a performance to remember.

Tickets are available for £8 (£6 concessions) from the Box Office (024) 76 524524 or online from the Warwick Arts Centre website.
