New Season at Warwick Arts Centre
Tickets for the full line up of live events for the Spring Season at Warwick Arts Centre are now on sale.
Highlights this season include live music from Mariza, Antonio Forcione, Ludovico Einaudi, African Soul Rebels and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and comedy from Jimmy Carr, Chris Addison, Lee Mack, Sean Lock, Katy Brand and Paul Merton.
The newly redeveloped Butterworth Hall will host a range of classical music concerts including performances by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Steven Isserlis and John Lill. The University’s resident string quartet, the Coull Quartet will also continue their 2009-2010 concert series.
In May the English Touring Opera will perform three operas: Don Pasquale, The Marriage of Figaro and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Theatre highlights include Chekhov’s Three Sisters and the Kneehigh Theatre return to the Arts Centre with a production of Hansel and Gretel. The Bite Size Festival 2010 will be held on 6 March showcasing the very best new theatre from across the West Midlands.
The film programme for January and February is also available.
The Mead Gallery will exhibit ‘Unpopular Culture’ from 22 January to 13 March, a selection of work made by Grayson Perry from the Arts Council Collection, presented alongside new work made by him in response to the Collection.
Theatre-lovers who are under 26 years old can take advantage of the “Night Less Ordinary” promotion with free tickets to some of the best shows this season.
As well as this programme of new events for the Spring, the Arts Centre runs a programme of free lunchtime concerts with performances from professional and student ensembles.
