Celebrating Undergraduate Research

From Tuesday 28th November until Tuesday 4th November, the library (floors 1 and 2) will be hosting a poster exhibition to celebrate the completion of the URSS scheme by 85 students. This year has been the most successful so far, and the poster exhibition will showcase the work of the students involved. The scheme culminated on Tuesday 28th October with a ceremony in which the students were presented with certificates by the Vice Chancellor.

URSS (Undegraduate Research Scholarship Scheme) gives students the opportunity to become directly involved with University research, with subjects ranging from photochemistry in biomolecules to Shakespeare in performance. Students further both their knowledge of academic research and valuable transferable skills. Support is provided by the Reinvention Centre and the Learning and Development Centre, including bursaries of up to £1,000.

Application for next year's scheme opens in November, and students who are interested are advised to see the poster exhibition to find out more.
