Former Student Stephen Merchant Returns to Perform at Warwick Arts Centre
Award-winning comedian and Warwick graduate Stephen Merchant will play a one-off sell-out performance, “Work in Progress”, tonight at the Warwick Arts Centre.
Merchant gained notoriety after co-creating the hit TV comedy programme The Office with Ricky Gervais, and is currently a BBC Radio 6 DJ. He has also starred in films such as Hot Fuzz and Run, Fatboy Run.
However, he started his successful broadcasting career at the University of Warwick where he studied a BA (Hons) in Film and Literature. Whilst studying at Warwick he was a film reviewer for the student-led Radio Warwick, and he took one of his films to the Edinburgh Festival.
After amassing a collection of BAFTA, EMMY, and Golden Globe awards it’s no surprise that his one-night-only show at Warwick has sold out.
Hopefuls can apply for returned tickets by calling Warwick Arts Centre Box Office on 024 7652 4524.
And for comedy fans who miss out on Merchant’s flying visit, a full programme of events at Warwick Arts Centre resumes in October. Visit the Warwick Arts Centre website for more details.
