From Monday 21 to Friday 25 February, Warwick will be celebrating its annual Go Green Week - the largest nationwide student-led environmental campaign and a celebration of work on environmental issues. A variety of environmentally themed activities will take place at the University throughout the week with plenty of opportunities to get involved.

A host of events will take place throughout the week, with each of the five days themed around a particular environmental issue.

Monday - Party in the Piazza: Come along to the Piazza between 10am and 4pm and get involved in a variety of events and activities. Some highlights include a bike-powered smoothie maker, live folk music, a photo exhibition and Rinky Dink – the bike powered sound system!

Tuesday – Transport Day: Start the day by cycling to the University and grabbing some free breakfast. Starting points at Leamington and in Earlsdon. Dr Bike and Gift my car will be in the Piazza all day, followed by evening talks on the Global Poverty Project (H0.52, Humanities, 5pm) and Eco Poetry (7pm, Writer’s Room, Millburn House)

Wednesday – Food Day: Come along at 1pm for a ‘Leftovers’ discussion in the SU Members Area – a chance to exchange ideas over shared food. There’s also a food cycle talk and a veg plot session in the afternoon or watch Warwick Student Cinema’s screening of Sunshine in the evening.

Thursday – Consumerism Day: Human rights ‘Buy Right’ talk, a stitch and bitch session and a screening of ‘The Age of Stupid’ are some of the activities you can get involved with today.

Friday – Grand Finale: from petitioning to human blockades, there are many forms of action. There will be workshops from the direct action groups Seeds for Change and Plane Stupid, before rounding off the week with a shared meal – meet at the Arts Centre bus stop.

Climate Forum

The Climate Forum on Saturday 25 February will host an array of talks, workshops and debates. Did art cause the environmental crisis? Where do we go from here? Can Slam Poetry save us? Speakers include Danny Chivers, Dougald Hine, Casper Ter Kuile (UKYCC), Joe Hall (Ecocide) and many more. 12-5pm
