MSc Management by Blended Learning Taster Sessions

Lilly Song - WBS MSc ManagementWarwick Business School will be hosting three free online and interactive taster sessions on Saturday 6, 13 and 20 February from 10:00 - 11:30 GMT.

The sessions will be presented by Dr Michael Shulver - Academic Director MSc Management by Blended Learning and will be delivered via our wbsLive classroom. They will provide an introduction to the MSc Management by Blended Learning degree and give participants the opportunity to collaborate on the web and engage with other delegates in order to get the benefit of personal contact wherever they are located.

The sessions will cover five themes cherry-picked from the standard introductory Operations Management module from the degree course and all are warmly invited to sign up and participate.

Edited handouts, notes, and case studies will be downloadable and screencasts will also be made to cover each session. The sessions themselves will be archived and made available to those who have signed up late.

If you are interested in studying the MSc Management by Blended Learning these free lectures will give you the ideal opportunity to have a taste of the course and to find out what it will be like to study by e-learning at Warwick Business School. A flick through Operations Management, Slack et al (ISBN: 0273679066) might be useful in advance but it's by no means essential.

New for 2010, the MSc in Management by blended learning allows you to add business knowledge to your first degree while working and to gain a wide perspective on management and business issues and the organisational contexts in which they apply. You could think of it as a business conversion course, online.

Michael Shulver, Academic Director said:

By providing an understanding of the language of business, the perspective of the senior manager, the strategist, the entrepreneur ... we will help you thrive in the corporate environment. Join us and we'll build a bridge from your first degree to the specific skills, knowledge, and analytical tools essential for your long-term success in business.”

The ability to collaborate on the web, and engage with other students in live online learning, means you can get the benefits of personal contact - conveniently. We blend innovative technology with the traditional distance learning techniques refined over more than 20 years teaching the Warwick MBA and with many corporate clients.

Applications for the MSc in Management by blended learning close on Friday 5 March 2010, for an April 2010 start and scholarships are available. WBS will also be holding an Online Information Session on Wednesday 17 February 10am GMT.
