Following a visit to Warwick by an academic delegation from Libya, Professor Stuart Palmer, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Julia Kahn (CELTE) and Dr Barbara Allen Roberson (PAIS) were invited during March on a five-day mission to five Universities in Tripoli and Benghazi. The mission was sponsored by the British Council, whose offices re-opened in Tripoli last year, and was part of growing academic engagement between the UK and Libya following normalisation of relations. The Warwick trio was warmly received and many opportunities for postgraduate training and collaboration were discussed, with particular focus on English Language Teacher Education.

The University has also opened a joint office with Manchester and Nottingham in Seoul, South Korea to increase efforts to attract Korean students to Warwick, promote viable educational links and foster alumni associations. Choi Jeong-mi, International Liaison Officer for Warwick in Seoul and Warwick graduate will head the consortium?s office in the capital.
