Members of the University's Retired Staff Association, including Chairman, Emeritus Professor John Annett and Colin Brummit, former Finance Officer and Warden of Cryfield, gathered in the Arts Centre on 31 January to award bursaries to current Warwick students. The bursaries are designed to support creative and cultural extra-curricular activities including the performing and creative arts and were awarded to:

Leah Jones, 1st Year, Law
Leah is a talented singer and a member of the Chamber Choir. She will be performing in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas in the Arts Centre in February, for further details see www.warwickartscentre.co.uk Leah will be using the bursary to help finance singing lessons in preparation for her entry in next year's Welsh National Eisteddfodau.

Kate Thomas, 3rd Year, Biochemistry
Kate is a gifted artist and is planning a piece entitled Warwickshire Colour Study, which will be made up of four large-scale canvasses each portraying a different season of the year. She is using the bursary to help with the cost of materials and her preparatory photos and sketches.

Tess McNamara, 1st Year, BA(QTS) Science
Tess, an accomplished musician, plays traditional Irish music: the violin, bodhran and penny whistle. She will be taking tuition from Comhaltas Ceoltori Eireann and passing on her own knowledge by running a children's club. The bursary will help her to fund both the tuition and the instruments and equipment for the club.
