The University's new fitness complex opened on Tuesday 1 July.

The facility has been developed with new equipment and a great environment. There will also be expert help and advice on hand to make sure you get the most from your exercise.

Located in the Sports Centre on Central Campus, it offers:

  • 400 square metres fitness suite and studio
  • 60 cardio workout machines
  • 20 resistant training stations
  • dedicated free weights, abdominal workout and stretching areas
  • full air conditioning
  • in-house cardio theatre
  • performance weights room with 15 fixed stations, power lifting platform and free weights
  • exercise studio for fitness and exercise to music classes

The suite is staffed by a Fitness Development Officer and two instructors able to offer a total holistic approach to exercise and health:

  • individual training programmes
  • fitness assessment and testing
  • personal training
  • exercise classes - spinning, crewing, aerobics
  • body composition analysis and nutritional advice
