Warwick Student Wins Prestigious Student Prize

Saba Hinrichs, a 4th year Electronic Engineering student has won second place in the prestigious UK Erasmus Student Prize.
Erasmus is an EU programme, which aims to promote the mobility of students within Europe.
After spending a year as an Erasmus student at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany, Saba entered an essay about her Erasmus experience, which was successful enough to take her through to the finals of the competition, along with 9 other UK students. Saba was then invited to the Law Society in London on 27th November to make a presentation before a panel of judges, and was delighted to gain second prize. Saba commented:
"Having the opportunity to spend a year abroad with Erasmus was already incredibly rewarding to me academically and personally... I entered this competition mostly because I wanted to share this same enthusiasm, so both entering and winning the finals was a delightful surprise in the end!"
This competition is sponsored by the UK SOCRATES-ERASMUS council and was run last year for the first time, as part of its contribution to the celebration of the One Million Erasmus students.
