Car Accident on Main Campus - Saturday 24 January

On Saturday evening (24/1/04) a driver lost control of a silver Volvo estate whilst negotiating the corner by the Rootes car park and slid sideways into one of the main campus bus shelters opposite the Arts Centre.

There were at least five serious casualties and all concerned have been treated in hospital. The driver was unharmed.

The University wishes all concerned a speedy recovery and awaits the outcome of a report into the accident.
