Are you interested in finding out more about volunteering? Would you like to give volunteering a try just for one day?

On Sunday 22nd February Warwick Volunteers and Coventry University Horizons are joining together to bring you The Big Challenge.

The Big Challenge is a one-day volunteering opportunity with 4 challenges to try at different locations in Coventry. Volunteers can choose to join in with one of the following:

  • Coombe Abbey Country Park – volunteers will help to clear up the dam bank which involves cutting back trees to make sure they don’t take over
  • The Family Project – volunteers can help with outdoor painting at this community centre for families
  • Coventry Peace House – volunteers can help with outdoor painting or to make rag rugs for use in the Peace House
  • Allesley Hall – volunteers can help tidy up the garden in this nursing home in preparation for the arrival of their new garden shed

All projects will begin at 10am and finish at around 4pm when there will be a big celebration bringing all volunteers together for a bite to eat.

If you are interested in finding out more or joining in please email Warwick Volunteers (volunteers@warwick.ac.uk) As transport from campus is limited, please also let them know if you have your own transport.
