An important meeting of the Warwick Manufacturing Group-Honk Kong Polytechnic University Steering Group took place at the University recently. Representing Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) were John Fielden, Dr Amanda Dowd and Glenda Kershaw. They met with, the Vice President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr Sun-Wing, who is responsible for partnership development, Deputy President Dr Sun-Wing Lui, and Professor T.C.Lee. Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Director of Studies with responsibility for IGDS and IMDS Programmes.

Following high level discussions in the UK and Hong Kong the steering group have been charged with expanding existing IMDS and IGDS programmes into mainland China. New locations in China having been identified, but the most exciting part of the expanded programme is the move into joint research activities in the area of automotive manufacture in the South China region.
