From the drum beats of Africa, the sweet sounds of salsa, the pumping rhythms of rock, the melodic strains of country and folk combined with acrobats, poets, dancers, art and craft workshops, the Leamington Peace Festival is where the boundaries of culture merge for peace.

This two-day free festival brings local artists, campaigners and community groups from Leamington and surrounding areas in a celebration that seeks to promote peace and equality between people and nations. Involved in the organisation and stewarding at the event are members of the Warwick University community, both staff and students, who are donating their services to help bring this event to life.

Over a hundred stalls representing charities, religious and philosophical groups, healers, pressure groups, craftspeople, and fair traders will be on show at the event along with live entertainment from a variety of local artistes including Warwick’s own break dancing society.

There will also be a workshop tent featuring poetry with Warwick’s Dreadlock Alien, yoga, dance, kite making and digeridoo demonstrations as well as juggling with the Warwick University Juggling Society. Plus a kiddie’s tent with lots of fun activities for the kids!

The festival kicks off this Saturday 19 June and runs over until Sunday 20th from 11 am on both days and promises to be two days of fun and excitement!

Come on out this weekend and have a blast at the Leamington Peace Festival.

An event not to be missed!
