  • How did roads, canals, railways, buses and flights affect community development? Martin Bennett will talk about this fascinating subject and how it applies locally to Coventry, Rugby and Nuneaton. It started with the Romans but where will it end?

This introductory talk will look at how this most distinctive of ancient civilisations came to exist and endure for over three thousand years.
Chris will be pleased to meet you on Tuesday, 18th May, between 2.00 and 3.00 p.m. in Coventry Central Library, Smithford Way.
  • For those who are keen to learn more about geology Martyn Bradley will be talking about the scenery of Britain and Warwickshire and show how this is influenced by its rocks and structures.
Martyn’s talk will take place at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Brandon Lane. Information will be available between 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and Martyn will be on hand to answer queries.

All of the above events are being run by tutors from the University of Warwick’s Open Studies programme. The programme which runs three times a year on a termly basis is open to everyone.
