Warwick's Quartet-in-residence, The Coull Quartet has a new addition to the ensemble.
Gustav Clarkson, a distinguished soloist and chamber musician will be joining the critically acclaimed string group in September adding his flourish as a viola player.
Formed in 1974, the Coull Quartet has been in residence at Warwick since 1977 and has contributed significantly to musical life on the campus.
The members assist with the training and coaching of talented string players from the University's orchestras and are also involved in a number of music education programmes on both the local and international scene.
Their rehearsal room is based in the Mathematics Institute and visitors are sometimes treated to a spontaneous concert by the Coull when they need a try-out audience for a new work. You can catch them next at the Warwick Arts Centre in October later this year or who knows you just might be lucky to get a freebie if you catch them in rehearsal.
