Royal Mail Postal Strike

Latest News: The Bishop Street office in Coventry has re-opened. However please bear in mind that the Royal Mail will be dealing with days of back-logged post.

We anticipate that the service will be back to normal by the end of the week.

At 10.30 pm on Wednesday 29th October the Royal Mail sorting office at Coventry announced and began immediate strike action.

There is a strong possibility mail posted from this university and collected by the Royal Mail drivers on the 29th will be seriously delayed.

Registered and Royal Mail Special Delivery at the moment, although affected, will be delivered. We have this reassurance from our account manager at Royal Mail.

The postroom will provide further updates as soon as they know further information. Please do not phone the postroom.

In the meantime, staff are being urged to communicate by email and fax as much as possible.

Very urgent items can be sent by courier but please be advised there are serious cost implications of using this method. Brendan Cassidy is happy to advise on this. Please contact Brendan on extension 22778, or email B.Cassidy@warwick.ac.uk
