Students' Union - Best Bar None

The Students’ Union is proud to announce that it has gained 'Best Bar None' status. Coventry's Best Bar None awards are granted to pubs, clubs and bars doing all they can to cut down on alcohol-related crime and promote responsible drinking. The newly aquired status reflects the Union's commitment to providing not only a first rate night out but also a safe one.

Run by the City Council, West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service - working together as part of the Coventry Community Safety Partnership – Best Bar None aims to establish a standard of excellence within pubs, clubs and bars across all Coventry.

The Best Bar None scheme was first launched in Manchester and is supported by the Home Office. This is the second year that the scheme has been run in Coventry, and the first year that the Union has been eligible to enter.

The Union was assessed against a range of criteria including the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

The Union is one of only 12 venues across Coventry to attain this status. Premises gaining the award show the public that they care about social responsibility and have regard for their customers welfare.
