Warwick Shootout

Kicking off the University of Warwick Student Arts Festival this year is the return of the hugely popular Warwick Shootout. Back for its fourth year, the film competition has secured multi-award winning writers A.L. Kennedy and Barrie Keeffe to serve on the judges’ panel.

Warwick Shootout takes film-making to an edgy new level by limiting the amount of time contestants are allowed. Each team will be given a briefing regarding the requirements of the films at 6pm on the 20th of June. Each team must then hand over their completed movie by 6pm the following day; allowing only 24 hours for writing, producing, filming and editing.

Judges will then determine the winners of each category: Best Film, Best director, Best In-Camera Editing, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Performance, Best Response to Brief, and Best Soundtrack.

The best films will then be shown at the Gala event, where film-makers will also receive their awards. Further screenings of the films will be available in the Arts Centre as part of the Student Arts Festival.

Registration for Warwick Shootout is still open to students, staff and alumni.
