The Chinese New Year Gala has been organised by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association and will form the the launch event for China Now at Warwick. China Now is the largest festival of Chinese culture ever in the UK and in the next 6 months the University will deliver a programme of policy briefing events and a Chinese Film Festival.
The Chinese New Year Gala will feature an oriental culture show with traditional lion dances, Kong Fu and acrobatics as well as additional performances from Warwick Tap Dancing Society and Warwick Street Vibe.
The Deputy Lord Mayor and Deputy Lady Mayoress of Coventry, Vice Chancellor of Warwick University, CSSA UK will also attend the New Year celebrations.
Yu Zeng, President of CSSA Warwick said “We feel this is a great opportunity for us to promote Warwick University as a future world leader and intellectual capital.”
The University of Warwick is home to over 1000 students from China and Hong Kong and this makes up around 7% of our full-time student population. With students and staff from over 120 different countries, the University is renowned for it's international profile which is further enhanced by the good work of our international students on projects such as this and One World Week which took place between the 18th-26th January.
