Six students from the University Of Warwick are causing a stir with their ambitious plans to raise £20,000 for The Prince’s Trust.
The 2nd year Management students, known as Frontier, are holding numerous events during the year - the most ambitious being the ‘Frontier Fun Run’ which will take place on Sunday 24th February at the University.
The group are using all their business skills and expertise to ensure that they can change the lives of those less fortunate. They have spent hours working closely with the University, the Students’ Union and corporate partners to organise this groundbreaking event, for which they hope to attract 500 runners and thousands of spectators.
The event has come about as part of the students’ involvement with a national competition called Profitunity! The competition challenges teams of talented students from around the country to identify, design and deliver a fundraising project which will raise as much money as possible for The Trust over a five month period.
After seeing last year’s winners raise £13,000, the Frontier team know they have the potential to raise the bar, shatter the previous fundraising record of the competition and help provide some much needed support to more young people than ever before.
Kieron Steele, managing director of Frontier said: “We are relishing the challenge that the Profitunity! competition is giving us and really believe that we can hit our £20,000 target. Plans for the event have come along greatly in the past week and we can’t wait to see everyone on the day.”
The team is looking for people of all ages and abilities in the local area to take part. So, if you are interested in running and raising money for this great cause, keeping fit or just generally having a great time, simply register at www.warwickfrontier.co.uk. Following registration, you will receive a sponsorship pack to begin your own personal fundraising!
And if that’s not enough to motivate you, there will also be prizes awarded to people who raise the most money, wear the wackiest costume or navigate the course in the most innovative way.
The Frontier Team are Kieron Steele, Dom Hyams, Katie Dean, Dean Ibbs, Gina Schilli and Nicola Adlington. Find out more on the Warwick Frontier website.
