Annapia Antonini
Annapia Antonini was born in 1942 in Lugano Switzerland. After studying art in Switzerland she moved to Paris in 1962 and studied painting at L'Academie Julian and etching at Friedlaender's atelier.
Antonini’s paintings and etchings are said to express “the poetry of everyday things” whether featuring still life, domestic interiors or landscape. Her first exhibition was held in Switzerland in 1964 since when she has exhibited widely in Europe as well as in the USA and Japan.
Her work is represented in many public collections including the Bibliothèque Nationale ,Paris; the Swiss National Library, Bern; Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Paris; the International Museum of Art, San Francisco; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford; the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and the University of Glasgow.
