Paysage d'Orage by Annapia Antonini
|
The dramatic possibilities of a stormy landscape (paysage d'orage) have fascinated many European artists, notably Rembrandt, Rubens, Gericault and Constable. In this work Antonini exploits the characteristics of colour etching using blocks of dark inks to create the impression of an impending storm in a mountainous landscape.
This etching was printed in Paris in 1964 in an edition of 15 with 10 artist's proofs.
