Brad Lochore
Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1960, moving to London in the late 1970s. He studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London (1985- 87) and Goldsmiths College (1990-92).
Lochore’s paintings are concerned with light and shadow, they are ambiguous, nuanced reflections of real objects or natural phenomena. The works are often arrived at through a process involving the digital manipulation of photographs, the finished paintings offering subtle, abstracted traces or shadows of the original image.
Examples of his work are held by the Tate Gallery, the Saatchi Gallery, the Arts Council collection and the UK Government collection as well as major museums in Germany and Austria.
