Bryan Wynter is associated with the St Ives group of painters who were inspired by the landscape around them in Cornwall. Abstract shapes and vibrant colour were used as a direct response to the experience of being within the landscape. In this work Wynter has begun to show the innate quality of abstract shapes to create rhythm and movement. When the lines become closer to one another the pace of the image increases. The thick black line snaking up and down the work becomes the main focus and literally 'meanders' across the page. These works are known as kinetic works. This title refers to the physical movement which is created purely through the careful placing of forms in space.
