Guy Stevens
Born 1971.
Guy Stevens studied at Chelsea School of Art, graduating with a degree in Fine Art Painting in 1994. During the course he spent much of his time developing multi-media projects, involving video, photography, performance, installation as well as sculptural techniques and after graduation spent several years creating various creative projects employing many of these art forms. In 2001 he taught himself stone carving and this has since become the principal focus of work.
His sculptures are made mainly using marble and limestone, they are abstract works with a wide range of form, scale and texture but, he insists, always revealing the inherent beauty and nature and energy of the stone.
Stevens exhibits widely in the UK and has undertaken a number of public commissions. He is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
